A Review of Exercise Program for Fall Prevention in the Elderly

The purpose of this study was to suggest direction for develop exercise program for fall prevention in the elderly. It was based on the korean journal and Master’s Degree and Doctor’s Degree which written from 1997 to 2007. Fifty two articles for fall prevention exercise classified and analysis. The result of this study were as follows: 1. The most frequently performed intervention were lower limb strength and balance exercise, 3times/week, over 60min per session, during of over 12week. 2. The effect of exercise on fall prevention was lower limb strength with resistance and balance exercise for increased muscle strength and balance. 3. On the measurement item. It was found that physical fitness, gait, position balance in the articles.
