In this study addressed the residential satisfaction and social exclusion of residents of public rental housing provided for the purpose of stabilizing the rental market for low-income brackets and homeless people. For this purpose, it employed factor analysis and the regression model for the analytical purpose. Overall satisfaction with public rental housing provided by Seoul City government was found to average a high level of 3.12, which is judged to be attributed to the clean internal facilities and comfortable environment provided based on the subdivided policy for public rental housing consumers. On the other hand, the items having the low level of residential satisfaction included the feeling of trust in ordinary people, the feeling of trust in neighbors, the degree of exchange with neighbors, and the proper level of exchange and were related to the NIMBY(not in my backyard) syndrome, the recent social problem. In spite of efforts on the part of local government, they are still understood to be negative in the local community. Therefore, this study presented the need to resolve social exclusion. And to attain the goal, it presented diverse methods such as minimizing the discriminatory elements felt by residents by making a more careful comparison and examination of the regional characteristics and resident qualifications including the housing price of the region in which public rental housing is provided; extending the community space for local residents; and making programs for intermixture between residents.
