The 6th industrial revolution represents the advent of new industries created through the convergence of secondary industry activities, such as food or speciality product processing, and tertiary industry activities, such as culture and tourism services, to create new added value in the primary industries. It represents new development opportunities for the Korean tea industry. This study reviews the status of the 6 th industrial revolution activities of the Japan and Korea tea industries and proposes tea culture activities and development directions for Jeollanamdo region. This study proposes a tea making and tea ceremony experience program related to Korean traditional Chihayngcha. Chilhyangcha is a functional tea made of medical herbs which are effective against seven different symptoms. It can serve as a good example for the adoption of 6 th industrial revolution activities by tea producers. For the development of the tea industry in the Jeollanamdo region, this study proposes the development of various functional tea products, the training of tea cultural experts, and the expanded operation of tea refining plants.
