The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between personality type (extroversion-introversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, judging-perceiving) and? psychological skills of personality, and? learned helplessness. The hypotheses tested in this study were as follows Hypotheses I : Depending on Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children’s 4 kinds of standards(E-I, S-N, T-F, J-P), there will be significant differences in learned helplessness. Hypotheses II : Depending on Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children’s 4 kinds of psychological skills, ST(Sensing Thinking), SF(Sensing Feeling), NT(Intuition Thinking), NF(Intuition Feeling), there will be significant differences in learned helplessness. To test above hypotheses, 190 students(96 boys and 94 girls) of Middle School in Chunan city were sampled as subjects of this syudy. Two kinds of measurements, Shin Ki-Myung’s 「Learned Helplessness」(1990) and Kim Jeung-Teak and Shim Hea-Suk’s 「MMTIC standarding」(1993), were used for this study. The results in this study were as follows. First, according to sex for the 4 kinds sub scale of personality type, the girls were higher score in E and S, and the boys was in N. Second, according to sex for learned helplessness, the girls were higher score than boys. In the sub-scale of learned helplessness, there were significant differences in the lack of self confidence, depression and negative cognition and lack of self control. Third, according to sex, there were significant differences in MMTIC’s 4 kinds of psychological skills. Boys and girls showed high score in NF and SF. Boys showed high score in NF, girls in SF. Fourth, depending on relationship between learned helplessness and types of personality, there was high score in I. In the sub-scale of type of personality, there were significant differences in the lack of self confidence, passivity, lack of continuation, lack of display and the lack of responsibility. There was no significant difference in S-N. In the sub-scale of type of personality, lack of confidence, depression and negative cognition, passivity, the lack of self control, the lack of continuation represented high score, but there was no significant difference. There was no significant difference in T-F. T was high score, but no significant difference in relationship of sub-scale. There were significant differences in J-P. In the sub-scale of type of personality, depression and negative cognition represented high score in P, but passivity, lack of display and the lack of responsibility showed high score in J. Fifth, there was no significant difference between learned helplessness and their types of personality psychological skills. ST showed high score, but there was no significant difference with other skills. The conclusion in this study were as follows. First, according to sex for the MMTIC’s 4 kinds of standards type, the girls showed higher score in E and S, and the boys was in N. According to sex for learned helplessness, the girls showed the higher score than boys. Second, according to sex for the MMTIC’s 4 kinds of psychological skills, the boys and girls showed NF and SF. Third, Introversion showed high score in the learned helplessness on the sub-scale of personality. Sensing-Intuition and Thinking-Feeling didn’t show significant difference. There were significant differences in Judging-Perceiving. Fourth, there was no significant difference between learned helplessness and MMTIC’s 4 kinds of psychological types(ST, SF, NT, NF)
