방과후학교를 통한 사교육비 경감대책

Policy for Reducing Private Educational Expenditures with After School Programs

사교육비는 교육을 받기 위해 개인적으로 지불하는 비용으로 사회에 많은 문제를 야기하고 있다. 사교육비 문제를 개선하기 위해 방과후학교 등 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 방과후학교는 학교에서 수행하는 공교육으로 정규 교육과정 이외에 수행하는 교육활동이다. 방과후학교 사업은 사교육비 경감에 많은 기여를 하였지만 이는 소득계층이 낮은 학생들에게 주로 기여를 하였고, 질 높은 교육을 받고자 하는 소득 높은 학생들에게는 크게 기여를 하지 못하였다. 이 문제를 해결하여야 사교육비를 경감할 수 있는 실질적인 방안이 될 것이다. 사교육비를 실질적으로 경감하기 위해서는 좋은 프로그램, 우수한 교사, 다양한 프로그램, 충분한 재정지원이 이루어져야 한다. 이와 같은 노력이 그동안 꾸준히 이루어졌는데 이를 보다 깊게 점검하여 강화하여야 사교육비를 경감하는 데 기여할 것이다.

Private educational expenditure is the cost which some person pay for to get an education personally. As the private educational expenditures are too much it makes many kinds of social problems. The government has been tries to solve the private educational expenditure. The government has provided for after school programs for students who want more education at school. After school programs are effective for students whose economic status is low. On the contrary the programs are not effective for upper class students because they wants highly qualified good education. To solve these problems schools should try to give the upper class students the high qualified education. These type of education is needed for lower class students as well. Good and diversified programs, excellent teachers, and enough funding are needed, too.
