본 연구는 두뇌체조가 초등학생의 학습효율성 증진에 미치는 효과를 실험적으로 검증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5학년 2개 학급을 선정하여 사전-사후 검사 통제집단 설계를 적용하여 12주간에 걸쳐 두뇌체조 프로그램을 실시하였다. 측정도구로는 박병관(2000)의 초등학생용 학습효율성 검사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 Repeated Measures ANOVA 방식을 사용하여 처리하였다. 연구결과, 두뇌체조 프로그램은 초등학생들의 학습동기, 학업유능감, 집중력, 자기관리전략, 정서조절전략 등 학습효율성 증진에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of brain gym on elementary school children’s learning efficiency. 2 classes of students in grade 5 of a elementary school in Daegu were sampled and participated in the experiment. Two classes were randomly assigned to experimental and control group. Prior to the experimental treatment, pretest of learning efficiency test by Park Byung-kwan(2000) was administered. And then experimental group was treated with three-day rotation brain gym program, while control group was no treated. The treatment lasted for 12 weeks, each day consisting of 20 minutes. In order to identify the effect of brain gym on learning efficiency, posttest was administered after treatment. Data were analyzed by using repeated measures ANOVA(two-factor mixed design). The results of this study showed that there are significant positive effects on learning efficiency such as learning motivation, self-confidency of learning, concentration, self management strategy, and emotional control strategy. Therefore, brain gym could be applied in school settings to promote learning efficiency.
