‘슈퍼스타K’ 경연에 대한 심사위원 평가 점수 결정 요인 분석: 심사위원은 어떠한 특성을 선호하는가?

Super Star K: Empirical Study of Judges’ Evaluation of Contestants’ Performance

본 연구는 한국의 대표적인 경연 프로그램으로 인기리에 방영중인 ‘슈퍼스타K’ 프로 그램에서 심사위원 점수 결정 요인을 분석한다. 이를 위해 슈퍼스타 K의 시즌 1-시즌 6 본선 경연 점수 자료를 패널자료의 형식으로 가공하였으며 패널자료의 고정효과 모형과 임의효과 모형의 추정방법을 이용하였다. 참가팀의 경연에 대해 심사위원의 평가는 곡의 특성, 라운드의 특성, 팀의 특성 순으로 점수에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 힙합이나 트로트 곡은 발라드 곡에 비해 점수가 약 3% 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 경연 순서에 있어서는 순서가 늦을수록 점수가 높으며, 특히 마지막 순서의 경우 첫 번째 순서에 비해 심사위원의 점수가 약 3% 증가하는 것으로 관측되었다. 팀의 평균 나이가 높거나 팀이 혼성인 경우 역시 점수가 높아지는 것으로 분석되었다.

This study examines the factors that influence the judges evaluation of contestant performances on Superstar K. Using data on the show’s finalists from seasons 1 through 6, we find that, in order of significance, characteristics related to songs, rounds, and teams influence the evaluations. Hip-hop and trots songs score 3% higher than the do ballads. Teams performing later in the running order gained higher evaluations than those performing earlier. Teams of higher-than-average ages or mixed genders also gained higher scores.
