인지적 학습양식의 개념적 모형 정립

The Conceptual Models of Cognitive Learning Styles

본 연구는 인지적 학습유형을 결정하는 인지적 요소와 이에 영향을 미치는 정의적 요소를 규명하고, 이 과정에서 결정되는 인지적 학습유형과 학습양식을 개념적 모형으로 제시하는 데 그 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 위해, 본 연구에서는 선행연구에서 다루고 있는 인지적 학습유형 및 학습양식에 무엇이 있는 지, 그 연구에서 동기 혹은 인성적 요소와 인지적 학습유형의 관계를 어떻게 제시하고 있는 지 분석하였다. 이 분석에 기초하여, 인지적 정보처리 단계에 따라 인지적 학습유형을 도출하고, 동기 및 인성과 같은 정의적 요소가 어떻게 인지적 학습유형의 결정에 영향을 미치는 지, 인지적 학습양식은 어떻게 형성되는 지 이론적으로 체계화하였다. 연구의 결과 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인지적 학습유형은 정보처리의 세 단계 즉 정보인식, 정보처리, 정보저장ㆍ인출에 의해 결정되며, 각 단계에서는 감각형/직관형, 전체형/분석형, 심층형/표면형의 학습유형이 결정된다. 둘째, 인지적 학습양식을 구성하는 과정에서, 정보인식 학습유형은 학습자의 인성적 특성이 반영되어 결정되며, 정보저장ㆍ인출 학습유형은 학습자의 동기적 특성이 반영되어 결정된다. 이는 학습자의 인지적ㆍ정의적ㆍ심동적 특성이 상호작용함으로써 학습이 이루어질 뿐 아니라 학습방법의 특성도 이들의 상호작용에 의해 결정된다는 이 연구의 이론적 근거를 뒷받침해준다. 셋째, 인지적 학습양식은 위의 세 단계에서 결정되는 학습유형의 조합으로 결정된다. 예컨대, 정보인식 학습유형이 감각형(I)이고 정보처리 학습유형이 전체형(H)이며 정보저장ㆍ인출 학습유형이 표면형(s)인 학습자의 인지적 학습양식은 감각-전체-표면형(IHs)이 된다. 이러한 조합을 통해 형성될 수 있는 인지적 학습양식은 8개이다.

The purpose of this article was to find out the cognitive learning types and learning styles, to identify the relationships between affective factors and cognitive learning types, and to establish the conceptual model of cognitive learning styles. The following conclusions were drawn as the research results: First, three cognitive elements of learning style are perception, processing and storage & recollection of information. Learning types determined by the cognitive elements are sensing/intuitive type, analytic/holistic type, deep/surface type. Secondly, affective elements have an effect on determine cognitive learning types. Learning types subject to perception depend on trait of personality, and also learning types subject to storage & recollection of information depend on the kind of motives. Thirdly, cognitive learning styles consist of three cognitive learning types, which are determined by three cognitive factors. Possibly, there are 8 cognitive learning styles. To effectively show the formation process of cognitive learning types and learning styles, the conceptual model is drawn and suggested. The relations between the factors of learning styles and the affective elements also is presented through that model.
