적정기술은 작지만 큰 기술이다. 현재 보이지 않는 적정기술의 비전은 상상하기 힘든 결과와 보상을 우리에 줄 수도 있다. 물, 화장실보다 우리의 생활과 밀접한 것도 드물것이다. 이를 해결하지 않고 과학기술을 논하는 것은 과학은 인간과는 무관하다는 전제를 인정하는 것이다. 과학기술자로서 세상 속에서 할 수 있는 일이 무엇인지를 고민하는 과정 에서 나온 개념이 적정기술이고 이를 위해 우리가 가진 지식 속에 마음을 담는다면 분명 우리에게 따뜻한 보답이 올것이라고 믿는다. 그것이 자연의 법칙이고 인간의 법칙이기도 하기 때문이다. 과학기술의 후유증을 치유하는 차원의 적정기술의 역할을 기대하여 본다.

Appropriate technology is envisioned to be small as it demands less energy, helps, and materials especially from far away, and also envisioned to be big as it has no limitation to imagine from the fact that the technology is closely connected to everyday life of the village residents. While performing projects using appropriate technologies with water and toilet, works toward a new world are believed to bring various values, such as empathy between residents and engineers/scientists. Thus, it is appropriate technology that is able to cure the aftermath of the modernized developments.
