‘노벨과학상’ 수준의 성과 도출 및 풍토 조성을 위한 방향 탐색 연구

Research on Exploring the Directions of Creating Results and Climate at the Level of ‘the Nobel Prize in Science’

본 연구는 ‘노벨과학상’ 수준의 성과 도출 및 풍토 조성을 위한 방향을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구를 위해 관련 선행연구를 조사하였고 ‘노벨과학상’ 수상자들의 인터뷰 기사를 포괄적으로 검색하였다. 자료 수집은 2017년 7월과 9월 중에 총 16,276건이 이루어졌고 이후 검토 과정에서 730여건으로 수렴되었다. 이를 토대로 자료 선별, 자료 처리 및 내용 분석이 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 결과로는 크게 6개의 대영역, 1) ‘노벨상에 연연하지 말고 연구에 매진해야’, 2) ‘추종자가 아닌 선구자가 되 어야’, 3) ‘글로벌 무대에서 다양하게 소통하고 교류해야’, 4) ‘기초과학의 중요성에 대한 공감대를 형성해야’, 5) ‘자유롭고 실패에 관대한 분위기를 만들어야’, 6) ‘평가 및 지원 시스템을 개선해야’가 있었다. 이외에 대 영역별로 소주제가 연구결과에 함 께 제시되었다. 본 연구를 통해 ‘노벨과학상‘ 수준에 버금가는 새롭고 창의적인 업적을 이끌어내는데 도움이 되는 요건들을 구체적으로 확인할 수 있을 것이다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 논의 및 결론, 향후 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the directions of creating results and climate at the level of ‘the Nobel Prize in Science’. For this study, I investigated the related research and comprehensively searched the interviews of the Nobel Prize winners. A total of 16,276 data were collected during July and September of 2017, and 730 cases were collected during the review process. Data selection, data processing and content analysis were done based on the data. The results of this study are as follows. There are six major areas: 1) ‘Do not stick to the Nobel Prize and focus on your research’, 2)‘Be a pioneer, not a follower’, 3) ‘Communicate and exchange variously on the global stage, 4) ‘Form a consensus on the importance of basic science’, 5) ‘Create a free and generous atmosphere for failure’, 6) ‘Improve evaluation and support systems’. In addition, small topics were presented in the results of the study. This study will identify the practical requirements that will help bring about new and creative achievements comparable to the Nobel Prize in Science. A discussion, conclusion, and suggestions for future research were presented on the basis of the findings.
