The relevance of oral health behavior and the attitudes of some adults to language comprehension related to preventive care

The purpose of this study, undertaken from May to August 2016, was to investigate oral health behavior and preventive language literacy in 220 workers active in a variety of industries. Data was collected from a subject group comprising 37.7% women and 62.3% men, with an average age of 32.7 years. The group was relatively well educated, 75.9% having graduated university, and the average monthly household income was 32.3%. Over half the subjects, 56.8%, were single rather than married. In terms of oral health behavior, 65.5% who did not undergo regular checkups with regular checkups. Among the subjects, 63.2% were regularly had their teeth scaled. 60.5% of the subjects did not have oral health education, and 35.9% expressed difficulty understanding the termi-nology used in dental treatment. The dental practitioners were 56.8%. Oral health behavior and lan-guage comprehension related to prevention were significant in the presence of periodic screening, periodic scaling, oral health education experience, dental treatment and oral health education.
