A Study on Dental Hygiene Students’ Knowledge of Medical Tourism and Activation Plans

This study had collected 204 dental hygiene students in Busan and Kyungnam, in order to investigate knowledge of medical tourism and activation plans of dental hygiene students. A survey was conducted from April 3 through April 17, 2013, by using structured, self-administered questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, using the SPSS software version 20.0 program. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The mean of hygiene student’s medical tourism level in Korea was 3.35 and The degree of activation of medical tourism in Korea was 3.17 out of 5. 2. In terms of the mean of medical tourism competitiveness plan, advancement of medical(4.37) is the highest, followed by medical system(4.15), medical tourist promotion(4.08), cost of treatment(3.84), and development of tourism resources(3.59). This study will become a basic data for development direction for the medical tourism.
