There are continuing debatements about the Buddhist reformation in the Modern times. Dealing with this reformation, many new kinds of Buddhist organizations are established. The orthodox Buddhist sect calls these newly risen religions. These new sects are a little heretical but also have faithful efforts to reform Buddhism. However, the study on these newly-risen religions has been insufficient. Although the new risen religions have influenced society very little, the study on these religions with a macroscopic view should be started immediately. This is because the religion is so closely related with a existing society. Moreover, this research must focus on the relationship between this new-risen religion with the broad Buddhist reformation, not on the each one separately. This article deals with these newly-risen religions in terms of Buddhist reformation and then speculate on the contemporary problems of Buddhism and their solutions. In oder to do this, I would observe the situation and the character of newly-risen religions in the period of Japanese Imperialism. Daegakgyo of Paekyoungseoung, one of the leader of Buddhist reformation, and the Buddhism Study of Parkjungbin, the progenitor of Wonbulgyo(Circle Buddhism), are the most important organizations to investigate the multi-dimensional change in the Korean Buddhism under the Japanese Imperialism.
