품사론의 새로운 도약을 위한 시론: 남기심 외 12인(2006)을 중심으로

20세기 후반기는 한국어 품사론의 침체기였다. 그러한 점에서 21세기 초두에 발간된 남기심 외 12인(2006)은 품사론의 중흥을 의도하였다는 점에서 시의적절하다. 남기심 외 12인(2006)은 20세기까지의 개별 품사에 대한 상세한 각론을 종합하고 정리하여 보편적으로 받아들일 수 있는 내용을 기술한 개론서이다. 이 책은 학문적 후속 논의의 출발점이 되고 문법 교육의 자료로서도 유용할 것으로 생각된다. 본고 에서는 이 책을 거시적, 미시적 관점에서 세밀하게 고찰하고 주로 문제점을 지적함 으로써, 이 책의 수정‧보완뿐 아니라 한국어 품사론의 후속 연구에 도움을 주려는 목적으로 작성되었다.

The second half of the twentieth century was the decline of the theory of Korean word classes. In that sense, it is timely that Nam et. al. (2006), which was published in the beginning of the 21st century, were intended to revive the theory of word classes. Nam et. al. (2006) is an introductory book that describes contents that can be universally accepted by summarizing and detailing the details of each word class by the 20th century. This book will serve as a starting point for further academic discussions and as a material for grammar education. The purpose of this article is to review the book from a macro- and micro-scopic point of view and mainly point out problems so as to help the authors revise the book and following researchers study the theory of word classes.
