A Study on the Japanese Medical Vocabulary

本研究 は、 医療観光客 に 接 する 医療従事者 が 現場 で 必要 な 言葉 を 習得 す るための 最 も 基本的 な 作業 である 語彙資料 を 選定 して 提示 し、 単純 な 語彙 一覧 を 越 え 優先的 に 習得 しなければならない 主要語彙 を 選定 して 提示 する ことを 目的 としてする。 最近 1 年間 の 日本 の 読売新聞 の 医療記事 の 語彙 の 中 で、 実際 の 医療語彙 選定 に 直接関連性 が 高 いと 思 われる 名詞 だけの 分析 を 対象 にすることにし ており、 固有名詞 、 組織名 、 人名 、 地名 は 名詞 の 分析 から 除外 した。したがって、 本研究 の 調査対象 の 一般名詞 、サ 変名詞 、ひらがな 名詞 、 1 字漢字名詞 を 対象 にして、 各名詞 ごとに 頻度 をもとに 語彙 の 重要度 が 高 いものから 順 に 主 な 語彙 を 選定 し、 選定 された 語彙 を 再 び 医療語彙 と 一般 語彙 に 分類 して 主要 な 医療分野 の 語彙 を 最終的 に 選定 し 提示 しようとす る。

The purpose of this study is to select and present vocabulary materials, which are the most basic tasks for medical professionals who come in contact with medical tourists to learn the words they need on the ground, and to select and present key vocabulary materials that must be learned preferentially beyond simple vocabulary lists. In the vocabulary of medical articles of the Yomiuri Newspaper of Japan published last year, we decided to analyze only nouns which seem to be directly related to actual medical vocabulary selections, excluding person and geographical names. Therefore, we select the main vocabulary so that it reflects the order of importance on the basis of the frequency of each noun for the general nouns, the surgical nouns, the hiragana nouns and the one-character kanji nouns which are the subjects of this research. The selected vocabulary is again classified into the medical vocabulary and the general vocabulary, and the vocabulary of the main medical field is ultimately selected and presented.
