한국의 특수교육사 연구 동향

Research Trends in the History of Special Education in Korea

본 연구는 지금까지 국내에서 발표된 특수교육사 연구들을 분석함으로써 한국에서의 특수교육사 연구가 어떠한 방향으로 이루어져 왔는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 실행되었다. 우선 본 연구를 위하여 연구의 선정 방법과 분석 틀을 제시하였다. 이어서 인터넷 논문 검색 데이터 베이스를 통하여 특수교육의 역사에 대한 학위 논문과 학술지 논문들을 검색하고, 이렇게 검색 된 논문들을 연구물 유형, 발표 시기, 대상 지역, 대상 시기, 연구 내용, 대상 장애 유형으로 분류하여 제시함으로써 우리나라의 특수교육사의 연구 동향을 포괄적으로 살펴보았다. 논문 검색 결과 총 35편의 연구물들이 선정되었으며 이에 따른 동향 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구물 유형과 발표 시기에 있어서 대부분의 연구는 학술지를 통하여 발표되었으며, 주로 2000년대에 발표가 이루어졌다. 둘째, 대상 지역에 있어서는 한국을 대상으로 하는 연구가 가장 많았으며, 대상 시기는 한국의 경우 해방 이후, 서양의 경우는 통사적 연구가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 연구의 내용에 있어서는 교육제도사, 교육사상사, 교육학사를 순으로 연구가 많이 이루어졌다. 넷째, 대상 장애 유형에 있어서는 시각장애, 지적장애, 지체장애 등 다양한 장애 유형이 다루어졌지만, 특수교육 전반을 대상으로 한 연구가 대부분이었다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 제한점과 앞으로의 연구 방향에 대하여 논의해 보았다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the research trends in the history of special education in Korea by analyzing the studies of special education history published in Korea so far. Firstly, the selection method and the analysis framework of the study were suggested. Then the theses and journals on the history of special education were searched through the internet database. The theses were searched and classified by research type, time of publication, target area, target period and research contents. Eventually, a total of 35 studies were selected. First, most of the studies were published in the journal, mainly in the 2000s. Second, the most common target area was Korea. The main target period was the post-liberation period (1945-) in Korea. Third, in the content of the study, there were a lot of studies in order of educational institution history, educational thought history, and history of pedagogy. Fourth, although various types of disabilities such as visual impairment and intellectual disabilities have been dealt with in the type of target impairment, most of the studies have focused on general special education. Finally, the limitations of this study and future research directions were discussed.
