교육대학 실과 실험ㆍ실습실 모델개발에 관한 연구

The physical aspect of school environment is an essential factor in the teaching and learning process and plays an important role in experiment and practice education for skin development. The appropriate facilities, equipments, and devices needed for experiments and practices are closely related to practical arts education in both teachers’ universities and elementary schools, particularly in terms of the sixth amendment of elementary curriculum. Thus, the purpose of the present study was to develop a model based on the facilities and equipment standards announced by the Ministry of Education, the current situation of the facilities and equipment in teachers’ universities, and the practical arts curriculum in elementary schools. 1. For home economics education, the model includes a food room, a clothing room, and a combined departments and home management room. 2. For industrial education, the model includes a wood working room, a drawing working room, and a metal and electric-electronic working room. 3. For agriculture education, the model includes an agricultural room, a culture room, a livestock farming room, and a greenhouse. The facilities and equipment standards should be improved in relation to the amendment of curriculum for the required experiment and practice education. Moreover, the Ministry of Education should actively participate in the policy-making process to build a center for practical arts education in which systematic and comprehensive learning activities can be performed.
