This study was conducted in order to offer the source materials to formulate the theoretical system of the practical arts education which was prepared for 21th century, the peak of social dynamics. The main substance of this article was composed that were the importance of PAEPS(practical arts education in primary school), the relation of the work and the PAEPS, the theoretical system of the PAEPS, and the research tendency of PAEPS, the details are as follows. In the part of the importance of PAEPS, it were referred to the practical arts education, mainly, among the subjects of the 7th curriculum in primary and secondary school. In the part of the relation of the work and the PAEPS, it were reviewed on the type of the work, the typical variation of the work, the philosophical paradigm of the work, and the essence of the PAEPS. In the part of the theoretical system of the PAEPS, it were discussed on the definition for the concept of the PAEPS and the direction of the future society and practical arts education. Endly, in the part of the new research tendency of PAEPS, it were referred to the affective entry behavior for PAEPS, the theory of combination subjects, the development and the application of CAI, and some contents to call for founding, such as the education on the rose of sharon as a korean national flower, coexistence of the plant-animal-human, the training against an accident, the pollution of our environment, etc.
