A Study on the Teacher’s Clothes for Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools

At present the schools of which teachers put on the clothes for teaching were three primary schools located in Teajon city. But in this study to enlarge the sample in broadsense the teachers who are in service at schools located in Choongchungnam-do and Choongchungbook-do province, and Teajon city were investigated about the opinion of putting on the clothes for teaching. For this purpose, the questionnaire method was used. The results could be summarized as follows. The teachers who put the clothes for teaching were the ones of primary schools located in Taejon city. These proportion of the teachers putting on the clothes for teaching was higher in primary schools than in secondary schools. In general teachers wanted to use fair average quality as cloth, and the clothes for teaching made by the teacher’s and clothes designer’s design. Also the color tone of clothes for teaching was preferred to be ivory for spring and fall, white and blue for summer, and block and blown for winter respectively. The important element of the clothes for teaching was found to be the color tone, and the reason was the educational effects of the clothes for teaching on the students. The number or the clothes for teaching which teachers have was about two according to the season respectively. The duration of making newly the clothes for teaching was over two years. For the cost of the clothes for teaching, teachers wanted the school authority to bear as social welfare dimension. The desirable condition of the clothes for teaching was reported to need activity and utility. Based on the above results, the following suggestion could be made. Also the fact that teachers, students and parents think the clothes for teaching to be affirmative was reported by TV, radio and newspapers. It is thought to be desirable that schools should offer the teachers the clothes for teaching to maximize the effects of teaching and learning. In such case the clothes for teaching should be made by professional designer considering its function, symbolism and aesthetism in order to become with contemporary sense.
