The purpose of this study was to investigate the directions for revising practical arts curriculum. For the purpose of this study, the various literatures related to practical arts curriculum were reviewed. As results of this study, the followings need to be considered for revising practical arts curriculum. 1. Practical arts education should be continued at each grade as far as primary school level is concerned. Therefore, practical arts content should be reflected to ‘Slgiroun-saenghwal(A wise life)’ subject at 1st and 2nd grade, and be provided at each of 3rd-6th grade. 2. School hours for practical arts are desired to allot at least 2 hours per a week for effective instruction at 3rd~6th grade. 3. The objectives of the subject have to be focused on creative problem-solving and synthesis ability. 4. It is desirable that the contents of practical arts are composed of core contents-living horticulture, cooking & needle work, design & handcrafts, computer, etc. 5. The content on computer need to be enlarged particularly. 6. The sequency between practical arts and technology/home-economics subject should be considered.
