Symbols of Each Local Provincial Autonomy in Korea(Ⅰ)

According to the research for all kinds of symbols(flowers/trees/birds) of 15 local and 230 provincial autonomies(except 17 provincial autonomies undesignated up to now) in Korea, the result of the research is as the foiling table. Among the total 71 symbolic plants, 19 symbolic plants, approximately 27 percents of the symbolic plants, are not Korean native plants but foreign plants. The order of symbolic flowers/trees/birds in the high selection frequency is as follows : Forsythia Koreana, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Camellia japonica and Rosa hybrida, whose 4 kinds of symbolic flowers were selected and are being used by related autonomies at the rate of 40.43 percents of the whole autonomies. Ginkgo biloba and Pinus densfjlora, whose 2 kinds of symbolic trees by related autonomies at the rate of 48.03 percents of the whole autonomies. Pica pica serica and Columba rupestris rupestris, whose 2 kinds of symbolic birds by related autonomies at the rate of 61.36 percents of the whole autonomies.
