The objective of this study is to measurement the actual condition of eating habit of the elementary student to get the fundamental data for the food wastes education, a resources economy education and an environment friendship education. The subjects were 572 students selected equivalently from fifth and sixth grade in an elementary school which are located in Daegu-city and Gyeongsangbuk-do. The researcher studied the literature in relation to the eating habit, environment education and the food waste, developed the questionnaires. In order to verify the validity and reliability of these questionnaires, these questionnaires are modified by specialists. The conclusion of the analysis is as follows: the degree where the students steadily do a schedule with fixed amount of meal, the degree which prefer to number of side dishes, the degree which demands appropriate amount of meals are over middle level. The degree which prefers to many side dishes of city students are higher than country students and it is significantly different (p<.01). The degree which prefers to many side dishes of female students are higher than male students and it is significantly different (p<.05). The frequency of eating out of researched students is almost middle level. The degree of the habit which leave the food is under middle level. also The degree of the habit which leaves the food of male student is lower than female student (p<.05), The reason of leaves the food is much amount of food than self amount, and the reason of leaves the food are significantly different for sex (p<.001), the residential area (p<.05), the to occupation of protector (p<.01). The most type of food wastes which leaves the side dishes and there is significantly different in the residential area (p<.001). The above results show that eating habit of the elementary students of Daegu-city and Gyeongsangbuk-do was frequent intake and overeating, it was bad eating habit of the elementary students. Bed eating habit result in increasement amount of food wastes.
