초등학교 학생의 소비자교육에 대한 부모와 교사의 인식 및 요구 분석

An Analysis of Recognition and Needs on Parents and Teachers for Consumer Education in Elementary School Students

This study investigated the recognition and education needs of parents and teachers on consumer education of elementary school students and provided the basic data for consumer education. The results found from this study are summarized as follows; Firstly, both parents and teachers recognized that consumer education is needed at elementary schools and it makes a significant on consuming life of elementary school students. Also, teachers recognized that practical arts subject is needed as a subject, which would be appropriate to perform consumer education and their parents recognized that social study would be appropriate. The period of performing consumer education, which was recognized by both parents and teachers is suitable when the children are younger. Also, both parents and teachers recognized that practical arts education should be done through the experiments rather than the theoretical contents. The most frequently used teaching and learning method for consumer education at school was a lecture and the problems noticed from textbooks related to consumer education was that there were more theoretical contents than the contents where it is applicable in real life. Secondly, there are more needs in the areas, which both parents and teachers answered such as ‘environmental protection’ and ‘value on consuming’ in the result of analysis on the contents of consumer’s education needs for elementary school students. In detail, there are more needs on the contents related to saving education. On the other hand, the area of ‘consumer citizenship education’ needs appeared to be lower than others. The conclusion found from the results is as follows ; Firstly, although consumer’s education for Elementary school students is needed and practical experiment education should be done, there are not enough textbooks and equipments; therefore, the development and application on various learning materials is required to bring student’s interests. Since teachers recognize practical Arts subject is appropriate for consumer’s education, the study and development are needed to perform consumer’s education in practical Arts subject. Secondly, as there are more social interests in the environment and as the national economy became difficult, there are more needs in the contents of environment and consuming; therefore, the contents related to the environmental protection and consuming should be included in the curriculum in the future. Thirdly, the ability of teaching of teachers is important than anything else for Elementary school students to receive systematic consumer’s education. The training opportunity should be expanded in the future to bring up the professionalism, which would develop and systemize the education.
