A Study on Self-Efficacy of Elementary School Students Following the Capability of Time Management

This study was undertaken to find out the relationship of self-efficacy of elementary school students following the capability of time management. 357 sixth graders at elementary schools in Busan City were the subjects that provided the data for time management capability following the general traits and the self-efficacy following the time management capability with the following results. First, the self-efficacy following the general traits has the female students with higher time management capability and value more on priority of works than male students. However, presence of brothers, occupation of mother, co-habitation of grandparents and others would not show the difference of time management capability. Second, the self-efficacy following the time management capability showed that the students with good time management preferred the higher self-control efficacy and difficult tasks, but there was no difference of confidence. The students who set the plan for each lower category for time management had the confidence and preferred to have the self-control and efficacy as well as difficult level of tasks. Students with high management and maintenance capability or time manage following the work priority had high self-control efficacy with difficult level of tasks, however there was no difference of confidence. To this point, there has not much of study on the time management capability on elementary school students, however, it is hoped that there would be active studies on the time management capability of the elementary school students based on this research.
