This study was designed to investigate the perception of elementary prospective teachers on their practical skills included in the textbook of Elementary School Practical Arts. One hundred and seventy five Seniors enrolled nationwidely in the National University of Education were employed as research subjects. The research data were obtained by questionnaires which were administered to the subjects from December, 10 to 25, 1999. The data were analyzed first by finding the mean scores and the standard deviations and then t-Test was used to examine the significance in the group difference. The study results show that the students overall responded “I am confident” with the mean score of 3.79 in the perception on their Practical Arts skills. The degree of students’ confidence was higher in order of computer domain, home economics domain, industry domain, and agriculture domain. There have not been shown the significant differences between the domains of practical skills and between the contents of the grade levels. However, there have been shown the significant differences partially between concentration areas (majors) in favor of the concentration area of Practical Arts.
