한국과 일본의 초등 실과 교육과정의 비교

A Comparative Study on ‘Practical Arts Education Curriculum’ of Elementary - Focus on Home Economics Domain in Practical Arts Education

This study was conducted to present the direction of development of Practical Arts Education in Elementary School comparing with two subject matters being executed in Korea and Japan. In first step, the characteristics, objectives and contents of Practical Art Education(Home Economics Education) were described, in second step, the similarities and differences of the characteristics, objectives and contents between two subject matters above-mentioned were clarified. From this result, the subject matters are different in two countries. In Korea, the subject matter is Practical Art Education, in Japan, that is Home Economics. The characteristics, objectives and contents of Practical Art Education were described with combined form of Agriculture, Technology, Computer and Home Economics. However, Japanese Curriculum was simplified with Home Economics and then it involves Clothing and Textiles, Nutrition and Food and Family Life and Housing. In revision curricula, the characteristics and objectives of the subject matter in Japan are also similar to existing systems. But in Korea, the contents of the revision curriculum are different from that of the present curriculum in composing of content domains. And Home Economics in Japan is more involved in the contents of actual life, namely, life etiquette, arrangement, cleanness etc. than Practical Art Education in Korea.
