The purpose of this study were to analyze needs of 37 professors, 110 teachers, 165 students about home economics, technology, agriculture & environment, and computer domains, to present developmental direction of practical arts subject matter. The major findings of the study were as follows ; (1) General domain should consist of basic contents, curriculum, teaching-learning theory, evaluation about each domain. (2) Home economics domain should be the science and living environment oriented contents. And it should develop on the basis of the 7th practical arts curriculum in elementary school. (3) Technology domain should contain design and drawing, living and wood handicraft, living and electric, living and electrics, and living and machine. (4) The contents of agriculture and environment should emphasize the understanding of agriculture and environment in our living, the utilization of plants and pet animals through culture and breeding. And subject matter should add to life science related contents such as tissue culture, genetic engineering etc. (5) The contents of computer should extend the ability of computer operation and utility, be closely connected with other domains.
