The purpose of this study was to determine the path model among the selected variables including children’s achievement in the practical arts subject, attitude toward the practical arts, practicing willingness, and parents’ allowing level of practicing. The population was all students in 6th grade elementary school in Taegu and Kyoung-Puk areas, a sample of 480 students were drawn randomly. To collect the data for this study, a questionnaire was developed by researcher with five variables. The mail survey method was used to collect data and the return rate was 98.3%. The SPSS 8.0 for Windows was employed to calculate statistics of reliability and multiple regression analysis. The reliability of the instruments was 0.92 for the practicing the learned practical arts scale and was 0.92 for the attitude scale calculated by Cronbach’s homogeneity coefficient alpha. Through the path analysis, all variables affected to the practicing the learned practical arts variable. The path between parents’ allowing level and practicing willingness was removed from the preliminary path model. Parents’ allowing level of practicing was the most effecting variable and the total covariation score was 0.568. Attitude toward the practical arts variable was the second most effecting variable and the total covariation was 0.488. The total covariation score for the achievement of the practical arts subject variable was 0.413. The variable of the practicing willingness variable (.271) also affected to the practicing the learned practical arts variable. So it was suggested that the practical arts education should be executed in better way to improve the level of children’s practicing the learned practical arts. And it was suggested that the parents’ attitude toward and the concept of importance of the practical arts education must be enhanced.
