This study was designed as the pretest-posttest control group design and conducted the t-test by using the SPSS Program for analysis of the data. The results of this experiment were summarized as follows: First, the students who took the class of the problem solving method showed higher levels of task performing abilities on the assignments than that of the students who took the traditional method, along with some other considerable differences. Therefore, teaching the class with the problem solving method strategy helped more in advancing the task performing abilities than the traditional method achieved. Second, the students who took the class of the problem solving method showed higher level of abilities in various fields, such as collecting information, planning of solving the task, performing achievement and evaluation in cooking foods, compared with the students who took the traditional method.
