Educational evaluation plays a core part in educational process because it not only influences but controls teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study is to suggest a conceptual model for development of evaluation instruments in home economics area by investigating reciprocal action among constituents of educational evaluation and to inquire constructive relationship between curriculum and evaluation in home economics area. The conceptual model indicates that evaluation purpose, evaluator, evaluation content, evaluation criterion and evaluation method should have not one-sided but reciprocal relationship. The perspectives emphasized in both curriculum and evaluation in home economics area are as follows. First, the purpose of curriculum and evaluation should focus on educational value such as individual self-formation and maturity as a member of the family. Second, educator and evaluator should be teacher and student who participate in whole educational process. Third, the content of curriculum and evaluation should include subjective knowledge, communicative and critical action, personality, creativity, etc.. Fourth, practical reasoning process applying cooperative learning and performance assessment are considered as appropriate teaching method and evaluation method.
