This study aims to investigate the relationship between children’s interest in laborious works of cultivating and breeding in practical arts and children’s personalities and ti find out the effects of laborious works in practical arts education on children’s personalities. Study subjects were 406 elementary school students in the fifth grade in busan. I gave questionnaire to the subjects to analyze the relationship between children’s interest in laborious works of cultivating and breeding in practical arts and children’s personalities. The results obtained are as follows. 1) As personality education in practical arts is limited as of time and space, children can’t hardly practice anyspecific personality. So in connection with practice, it’s the best way to give students strong will of practice and impulse. 2) In cultivating, children have great interests in laborious works but they dislike and avoid difficult things like ‘transplantation’ and ‘weeding’. 3) In breeding of goldfish, children have much interest in ‘breeding goldfish’, ‘feeding goldfish’ and ‘effects and satisfaction’ but little interest in ‘renewing water’ and ‘cleaning a fishglobe’. 4) In breeding of domestic animals, children have much interest in ‘breeding domestic animals’, ‘feeding domestic animals’, ‘caring domestic animals’, and ‘effects and satisfaction’ but little interest in ‘cleaning cage’. 5) The results were that the group of 15.5%, 37.4% and 47.1% has strong, weak and normal personality respectively. That is to say, we can find the differences in the respective personalities and the gender, but in general, we can make a conclusion 16, 37 and 47 students out of 100 have strong, weak and normal personalities respectively. 6) The relationship between children’s interest in laborious work and personalities, dominance has positive correlation with cultivating and breeding. Children have more interest in cultivating and breeding, they have stronger dominance. Therefore the degree of children’s dominance can be higher if many chances of laborious works are given to children at school.
