The purpose of this study was to examine effects of ICT-based instruction applied to practical arts subject on students’ academic achievement and learning motivation and to analyze statistical differences between ICT based instruction and conventional instruction. To get the answers of the research questions, the experiment was made on two students’ classes having similar ICT literacy. As the tools of the experiment, test sheets for ICT literacy, academic achievement, and learning motivation and ICT-based work sheets were used. Before the experiment, ICT literacy test was performed and according to the score of that, the students of two classes were classified into high, middle and low ICT literacy groups. Then ICT-based instructions were performed to experimental class and conventional instructions were performed to controlled class. After the experiment finished, ICT literacy test was performed again to test academic achievement. And the results of the study are as follows: First, overall academic achievement of the experimental class was higher than that of the controlled class. Especially the academic achievement of middle and low ICT literacy groups was higher than that of high groups. Second, overall the learning motivation of the experimental class was higher than that of the controlled class. In particular effects on attention, relevance, and confidence factors of learning motivation were very high. The effects on four factors of learning motivation were varied in ICT literacy level. High ICT literacy groups got high score in attention and middle groups in relevance, confidence and satisfaction and low groups in attention, relevance and satisfaction.
