노자 사상의 환경윤리적 함의

The View of Environment Implicated in the Oriental Thoughts

The purpose of the study was to investigate an environmental ethics implicated in the taoism of Lao Tzu(or Noza) as a alternative of western environmental ethics. Major findings of the study were as follows; It was identified that Lao Tzu’ thought was based on the ecological world view, through analyzing of “Tao’ concept. First, his the monism of world view is one of factors to be able to overcome the dualism of world view. Second, de-anthropocentricism could be a source to solve the problem of anthropocentricism world view that is fundamental cause of the ecological environmental crisis. Third, the organic and circular world view could be used to overcome the limitations of the ecological environmental ethics in western. Through analyzing of ‘Virtue’ concept, the importance of Mercy, Plainness and Bulgamuichunhasun(不敢爲天下先) was confirmed as the environmental ethics virtue. The environmental ethics implicated in the ‘That Which is so of Itself without wilful action’ demanded the ‘Doing nothing’ which is normative law of human being in order to accept these virtue list, and through those results, those elements could be put together such as fragility, peace, disinterestedness and artlessness. Conclusionally, Lao Tzu’ taoism could be considered as ‘naturalistic environmental ethics’, which it is alternative environmental ethics to overcome western environmental ethics. Based on the results of the study, some recommendations were suggested.
