Design of the Web based Project Learning Support System for Practical Arts Subject

Project Learning is the teaching and learning method well matched the objects and characteristics of practical arts subject. Nevertheless, traditional project method has many limits in the present society represented by digital and network. We can overcome these limits if we utilize properly the property of digital and connectivity of network, and the web based project learning method is correspondent approach to this. Most teachers acknowledge the educational value of project learning, but they are being restricted organizing and managing the curriculum. Also, they have observing and reluctant attitude in practicing project learning because of lack of relevant skill about project learning and understanding of learning process. So, if somebody offer them proper support system, this plays an important role being able to contribute to diffusion of project learning for practical arts subject. In this study, I designed the support system can help promote project learning in practical arts. First, I studied on the overview of project learning, the preceding study about the project learning effectiveness, and web based project learning. In part of the design of system, I took out system elements from project learning model for practical arts subject verified on preceding study. Also, I designed the detail capacity per system elements, database table lists, system structure, and user interface. This system can be used in the cooperative project learning for practical arts between primary schools located in other area as well as in a class or in a school.
