This study is aimed to investigate the feasibility and necessity that the college for nurturing elementary school teachers should standardize programs for training the teachers in charge of Practical Arts Education. To do that, It is reviewed the basic understanding and principles of and the current state and problems of the programs. Furthermore, the author presents the methods wherewith the programs shall be improved and developed. As part of the strategies to accomplish the programs, the author has developed standard lecture subjects and a standard lecture plan on Home Economics, one of the Practical Arts Education, and introduced a portion of text developed based on the said subjects and plan. Throughout this study, it is stressed that the programs for training the teachers in charge of Practical Arts Education should be intensified in such a way as to establish the academic structure of Practical Arts Education, systematize the contents of the courses, and normalize the operation of the courses.
