Approaches to the Practical Arts Education Contents Organization for the Future Oriented Social Context

The Purpose of this study was to propose the appropriate organization of the Practical Arts Education Contents by investigating the intellectual attitudes and abilities for successful life in the future society. The characteristics of the future society was analyzed with literature review and the problems of the Practical Arts Education in these days were discussed in this point of view. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The characteristics of the future society identifies as globalization, information oriented, and diversity and needs the creative, autonomous and open minded lifelong learner. So the Practical Arts Education contents should take into consideration on the learners needs according to the changing society immediately. 2. The future Practical Arts Education contents should emphasize the development of intellectual and social skills, creative thinking skills and reasonable decision making skills in everyday life. 3. The contents of the different areas in the Practical Arts Education curriculum should consider the qualitative integration and free selection of the contents according to the students needs and conditions of the school agenda.
