In light of the policy for the new curriculum reform, the scrutiny on the duplications of curriculum contents between Practical Arts and other subjects must be a meaningful attempt to reduce the academic burden for both teachers and students and to attain the effective teaching and learning. This study examined and analyzed the possible duplicities of curriculum contents between Practical Arts and other subjects. Curriculum contents in Practical Arts related to family, home, consumption, work in daily life were duplicated with those in Ethics and Social Studies. Such topics as plants, animals, electricity, electronics in Practical Arts were duplicated with those in Science and the topic of nutrition in Practical Arts were duplicated with that in Physical Education. The topics of resource management and environment in Practical Arts were duplicated with those in several subjects and the topic of computer in Practical Arts were duplicated with that in Computer and Life teaching in overall grades. Only the topics of cooking, clothing, and wood working in Practical Arts were not duplicated with any other subjects. The problems of duplication in curriculum contents between subjects should be solved through the reconciliation process in order to reduce the academic burden for both teachers and students and to attain the effective teaching and learning. Through this straightening process, the identity and distinctive character of Practical Arts Education could be better clarified.
