The purpose of this study was to analyze factor structure of career development for elementary school students. In this study, career development was defined as the construct comprised of three dimensions: Self-awareness, Education and Occupational exploration, and Career planning. Self-awareness was composed of three factors: ‘awareness of self-concept’, ‘awareness of human relations’, and ‘awareness of self-trait’. Education and Occupation exploration was composed of three factors: ‘awareness of the relationship between career and learning’, ‘awareness of the relationship among work, personal responsibility, and society function’, ‘understanding and use of the career information’. Career planning was composed of three factors: ‘understanding the decision making process’, ‘understanding the interrelationship of life roles’, and ‘understanding career planning process’. 2,520 fifth and sixth grade students in elementary schools participated in this survey. To analyze factor structure of the Career Development for elementary school students, correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis were used. The result of exploratory factor analysis provided initial the evidence of validation for the career development model for elementary school students, as the nine-factor model was determined to be a reasonable solution to the response data. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, career development for elementary school students was consisted of three dimensions and nine factors. The correlations among all factors were significant (p < 0.01).
