The Effects of Sandplay Therapy on Anxiety and Defense Style of Mother of Disabled Children.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sandplay therapy for the major psychological problem about the anxiety and the defense style for reducing anxiety of the mother of disabled children. This study aims to find positive influence the relationship between the disabled children and their mothers to help the psychological stability and to find the personal self-esteem of the mothers. The sandplay therapy is effective to reduce the self-inhibitory defense style of the mother of disabled children. The level of the self-inhibitory defense style of the experimental group becomes lower after the sandplay therapy and it shows the significant statistic difference. To reflect the result of this study, the sandplay verifies to reduce the anxiety of the mother of disabled children and it shows the increasing the adaptive defense style. Also, this study verifies the sandplay therapy is effective to reduce the negative maladaptive defense style.
