The Relationship between Cognitive Factors and Suggestibility in Children: Focused on the POLICE SCIENCE Perspectives
- 27
The importance of understanding suggestibility in forensics increased the empirical research studies on how a number of factors influence suggestibility in children. This paper is to examine the relationship between cogni-tive factors such as language abilities, memory, theory of mind, creativity, and suggestibility in children. Previous research studies suggested that two categories such as language abilities, when a comprehensive language was measured, and creativity were found to have a consistent relationship with suggestibility. Implication for police officers and psychologists for interviewing children witnesses or victims were discussed.
