Dasik, a traditional Korean food, is a kind of cake made with ingredients such as honey and cereal powder. Regretfully, Dasik is now on the decline, owing to its replacement by numerous refreshments imported from foreign countries. The term ‘tradition’ is no longer considered as important as it used to be. However, effort still needs to be made to protect our way of living, which has been passed on from generation to generation. In this context, now is considered to be an appropriate time to try to reverse the tide. The current projects for the revitalization of Dasik are as follows. Attract attention and raise awareness of Dasik by associating it with creative contents, such as webtoons, movies or soap operas, in order for it to be more easily accepted by the current generation. Changing the form of Dasik by integrating baking skills into its production, so that its preparation will not seem strange to people in the modern kitchen anymore. Producing Dasik molds as a tourism product, by presenting Dasik making experiences. Using Dasik as a ritual food in traditional events which are still being carried out, such as 60th birthday ceremonies and 1st birthday ceremonies for babies. Vitalizing Dasik culture by holding Dasik design contests, Dasik family crafting events, etc.
