생활의 개인화에 대응하는 지역사회 예술교육 - 제주 한라산학교를 중심으로 -

최근 저출산과 고령화로 생애주기가 길어지는 장수명 사회로의 전환이 가속화 되고 있다. 이로 인해 생애 전반에 걸친 다양한 교육수요가 발생하고 있다. 일과 생활의 균형을 중요시 하는 사회적 패러다임의 변화 역시 다양한 라이프스타일의 학습자 증가로 이어지고 있으며, 지역사회를 중심으로 한 다양한 형식의 예술교육 필요성은 갈수록 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이로 인해 지속가능성의 담보 문제, 교육수요와 공급의 불일치 문제 등이 과제로 지적되어 왔다. 사회적 패러다임 변화에 대응해 지역사회 예술교육의 수요와 공급의 불일치를 극복하고 지속가능한 교육을 담보 할 수 있는 다양한 방안 모색이 절실히 요구된다 하겠다. 이에 본 연구는 저출산･고령화 사회에서의 지역사회 예술교육에 대한 이론적 고찰을 실시하였고, 지역예술가들의 협력 체계를 통해 지역사회 예술교육을 지속하고 있는 제주 한라산 학교의 대표교사와의 인터뷰 조사를 통해 그 운영체계와 교육 실태를 파악 하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서는 첫째로 지역사회 예술교육이 생애주기적 관점에서 개인의 다양성을 존중하는 개인화적 관점으로의 인식 전환이 요구되고 있음을 밝힐 수있었고 둘째로 제주 한라산학교가 어떻게 수요와 공급의 불일치를 극복하고 있으며, 지속가능성을 담보할 수 있는지 그 특성에 대한 지견(知見)을 얻을 수 있었다. 본연구는 기존의 생애주기적(life stage) 관점이 아닌 장수명사회가 추구하는 ‘생활의 개인화 ’라는 관점에서 지역사회 예술교육을 유기적이고 통합적으로 고찰하고 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있을 것이다.

Recently, the transition to a long-lived society in which the life cycle is prolonged due to low fertility and aging population is accelerating. As a result, there is a demand for various education throughout life, and the change of social paradigm which emphasizes the balance of work and life also leads to the increase of learners of various lifestyle. The majority of domestic community arts education is centered on suppliers that provide public support. This has been pointed out as a guarantee of sustainability and a disparity in education demand and supply. The purpose of this study is to examine the theoretical background of community art education in low birth rate and aging society. Also, Jeju Halla Mountain School, which continues local art education through the cooperation system of local artists, was selected as the research subject. And the operating system and education situation were examined.  The purpose of this study is to acquire knowledge on how the arts education in the community overcomes discrepancies between demand and supply and how it can guarantee sustainability. This study is meaningful in that it examines community art education in an organic and integrated way from the viewpoint of ‘personalization of life’ pursued by ‘long-life society’ rather than the existing lifecycle (life stage) perspective.
