Personal Relationship in Terms of Religious Freedom and Revelation

오늘날 한국 사회에서 다음 세대에게 신앙을 전수하는 일은 매우 커다란 위기에 봉착했다. 신앙생활을 의무로 설명하는 것이나 기복적 의도에서 신앙생활을 권유하는 것은 더 이상 큰 설득력을 지니지 못하기 때문이다. 본고는 제2차 바티칸 공의회 문헌을 바탕으로 하느님과 인간의 관계에 대한 교회의 가르침을 확인하고, 이 가르침이 한국 사회 안에서 펼쳐질 수 있는 가능성을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 제1차 바티칸 공의회와 제2차 바티칸 공의회 사이에 이루어진 교의적 발전을 분석하고, 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 핵심 문헌에 대한 연구를 통해 보편성에 대한 교회의 현대적 해석을 제시한다. 본고는 이를 통해 하느님의 계시 및 그에 대한 응답인 인간의 신앙이 하느님과 인간 사이의 인격적 관계 안에서 가장 뚜렷이 드러난다는 결론을 제시한다. 아울러 이 인격적 관계가 다원화된 상황에서 신앙인 및 타자에게 지니는 의미를 전망한다.

Nowadays, handing down the faith has gone into crisis. It is no longer persuasive to explain the life with faith as a duty, or to suggest to believe in God on the pretext of being blessed. This paper intends to confirm the Church’s teachings on the relationship between God and man based on the documents of the Second Vatican Council, and thereby to probe the possibility of developing these teachings in Korean society. For this task the dogmatic developments achieved during the period between the First and the Second Vatican Councils are to be analyzed, and the Church’s modern interpretation of ‘universality’ is to be presented through the study of the core documents of the Vatican II. This paper will submit the conclusion that the revelation of God and its response of human, called human faith, is most clearly shown in the personal relationship between God and man. Finally, what meanings of such personal relationship have toward the believers and others in pluralized situation will be examined as well.
