Purpose Since MDCT was introduced in 1999’s, effort to non-invasively make a cardiac image. DS(Dual Source) CT have improved Temporal resolution by using two X-tube and detector and put to use in other to decrease scan time pitch adaptation function that change according to heart rate. We could know effect on patient dose by pitch change and optimistic image acquirement and how to use proper pitch in other to decrease dose. Materials and Methods We used Siemens company’ Dual Source CT; Somatom Definition(Erlangen, Germany, 2006) and scanned slice thickness block of CT performance AAPM phantom and acquire each data from changing pitch. Axial image was acquired through ECG editing after making situation like real low heart rate by changing R-R interval. We were confirmed existence and nonexistence of artifact according to low heart rate. We were confirmed the CTDIVOL at the by different pitch. Results No blurring and interruption until 9~10bpm down at more pitch 0.28, until 37bpm at pitch 0.2, until 40bpm at pitch 0.22. The aluminum plate was blurred and interrupted when bpm lower than threshold. The proportion was differenced at each pitch. The more pitch raise CTDIVOL was decreased and distributed until 49~20mGy. The difference is 2~10mGy at each steps. Conclusion The way to decrease the dose, Siemens company’s DS(Dual Source) CT is applied each different pitch by heart rate, it ’s very important that know the range of minimum bpm without losing infonnation by each pitch. Applying proper pitch from the patient’s heart rate could decrease the dose and eliminate artifact by low heart rate. When arrhythmia is developed during the examination, the range of minimum bpm is important while adjusting the gap of R-R Interval in ECG editing.
