The purpose of this study was to investigate the diadochokinetic(DDK) characteristics in the persons with cerebral palsy(CP). The DDK characteristics were measured through rate, regularity, accuracy, and consistency in Alternate Motion Rate(AMR) and Sequential Motion Rate(SMR) tasks. The subjects were 10 persons with spastic CP(8 males, 2 females), 10 persons with athetoid CP(7 males, 3 females) and 10 persons with ataxic CP(8 males, 2 females) from 10 to 21 years old with moderate severity participated in this study. The results of this study were as follows: First, the rate of AMR was a significant difference between the spastic group and the other groups, and the rate of SMR was a significant difference between the athetoid group and the spastic group. Second, the regularity of AMR was a significant difference between the athetoid group and the other groups, the regularity of SMR was no significant difference among the groups. Third, the accuracies of the DDK tasks were significant differences between the athetoid group and the other groups. Lastly, in the consistencies of the DDK tasks, the athetoid group had significant difference the other groups in SMR. In conclusion, the athetoid CPs were differences both spastic and ataxic CPs in the rate, regularity, accuracy, and consistency of the DDK tasks, and there were little differences between the spastic group and the ataxic group.
