Antibiotic residues in milk of cows administered penicillin either intramuscularly or intracisternally were studied by the use of 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (T.T.C.) test. Residues in milk of cows by 72 hours after the administration of penicillin aqueous (10,000 I.U./kg) intramuscularly were detected in 1 of 5 cows whereas those were detected in 3 of 5 cows given oil penicillin. The time of elimination was 108 hours for the cows administered intramuscularly a dose of 20,000 I.U/kg of aqueous penicillin and 120 hours for those received 20,0000 I.U./kg of oil penicillin. When 500,000 I.U. of penicillin aqueous or oleosum was administered intracisternally, the elimination time was 72 hours for aqueous penicillin and 84 hours for oil penicillin.
