Studies on Toxicity of Sterigmatocystin

The purpose of this study is to determine the toxicity of sterigmatocystin produced by As-pergillus versicolor spp. in Korea as the result of histopathologic studies on the liver of the ducklings which were treated with the sterigmatocystin. In this experiment, the histopathological changes in the liver of the ducklings have been studied. The basic histopathologic lesions associated with administration of the sterigmatocystin consisted of hemorrhages, hepatic parenchymal degeneration and necroses, fat changes, fibroblast proliferation and mitotic figures of the bile duct cells. Variations proliferation and of the sterigrnatocystin may be slightly severer than standard sterigmatocystin.
