대학 글쓰기 저학년 학습자를 위한 ‘취업 목적 자기소개서’ 수업 사례 연구

A Case Study of ‘Self-introduction for employment’ Class for Lower-grade Students Learning Writing at University

본고는 대학 1·2학년 학생들이 ‘취업 목적 자기소개서’를 효과적으로 학습할 수 있는 수업 사례를 제시하고 그 효용성을 확인하는 데 목표가 있다. 취업 목적 자기소개서는 성숙한 ‘자기 분석’과 폭넓은 ‘기업 분석’이 전제되어야 하는 글쓰기이다. 그러나 대부분의 대학 글쓰기 교과목은 대학 저학년 과정에 편제되어 있어 콘텐츠의 생성이나 학습 동기 유발 면에서 한계를 나타낸다. 이를 해결하기 위한 수업 사례로서 2016학년도 1학기부터 2017학년도 2학기까지 총 4학기에 걸쳐 대전과 충남 공주 소재의 두 개 대학에서 진행한 ‘흥부의 자기소개서’ 수업을 제시하고자 한다. 이 수업 사례는 학생들이 ‘흥부’라는 가상 인물과 조선시대로 환원된 지원 회사 설정을 통해 ‘흥부의 자기소개서’를 완성하는 수업으로, 2차시 2주(총 4차시)로 구성되어 있고, 총 13개 반, 83개 조, 415명의 학생들을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 결과적으로, 이 수업은 <흥부전>을 원형이야기로 하는 다양한 스토리텔링 활동을 통해 저학년들이 갖는 콘텐츠 부족 문제를 해결해주고 학습에 대한 강한 흥미를 유발하였다. 또한 이 수업은 저학년 학생들이 취업 목적 자기소개서의 구성 과정과 장르적 특징을 효과적으로 학습하는데 기여할 뿐만 아니라, 일찍부터 취업에 대한 관심을 제고하여 진로 탐색과 경험 축적의 기회를 제공할 것이라고 판단된다.

This study aims to offer a class case of freshmen and sophomores learning ‘Self-introduction for employment’ effectively and check the usefulness of the class case. The prerequisite for writing a ‘Self-introduction for employment’ is mature ‘self-analysis’ and sufficient ‘company analysis’. However, the class of writing a ‘Self-introduction for employment’ is mostly included in the curriculum of lower grades at university and there is a limitation on generating contents and learning motivation. To improve this limitation, the class of ‘Self-introduction of Heungbu’ was conducted at two universities located in Daejeon and Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, for four semesters from the spring term of 2016 to the fall term of 2017. In the class, students were instructed to prepare the ‘Self-introduction of Heungbu’, an imaginary figure, for applying to a target company in the Joseon Dynasty. The class was conducted for two weeks - two hours a week and four hours in total. A total of 415 students in 13 classes and 83 groups participated in the class. As a result, the various storytelling activities based on ‘Heungbu story’ solved the problem of insufficient contents among lower-grade students and provided strong motives for learning. Also, this class contributed to letting lower-grade students learn the process of constructing a self-introduction for employment and the characteristic of the genre effectively. Furthermore, it will give students the opportunity to search job-related information and accumulate practical experience by increasing interest in employment early.
