Bioeffects of hyperbaric oxygen environment on the blood picture of chicken

An experimental studies performed to observe the bioeffects of exposed to 100% oxygen in 3 atmospheres(ATA) on the blood picture and lung tissue of chicken. The following results were taken in the experiment: 1. The number of the erythrocytes and the value of the hemoglobin and hematocrit exposed to 3 atmospheres of 100% oxygen environment for 3 hours of chicken were significantly decreased than those of the control. The number of the leucocytes was increased than that of the control. 2. The average value of total protein, albumin and bilirubin in the serum exposed to 100% oxgyen hyperbaric condition for 3 hours of chicken were increased than that of the control. 3. The ratio of lung weight to body weight was significantly heavier in the chicken exposed to the hyperbaric oxygen than that of the control. 4. Histopathological changes of the lungs exposed to the hyperbaric oxygen condition for 3 hours were severer than those exposed to for 1 hour.
