In order to investigate the contamination of microorganism in chicken eggs, the isolation and identificaion of Salmonella and E. coli from 260 chicken eggs stored at room and refrigerated temperature were examined. Egg samples were collected from November to December 1983 at three chicken farms in the area of Kungki Do. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Salmonella was isolated from one of 260 eggs(0.38%), and the salmonella was isolated from the egg shell, albumen and yolk materials. 2. The isolated salmonella was identified as salmonella mississippi and its serotype was subgenus Ⅱ, O Group G₂. 3. Isolation rate of E. coli from the chicken eggs was 11.7% of 120 eggs stored at room temperature and the E. coli isolated from the egg shells only. 4. The serotypes of isolated E. coli were identified as 064(1 strain), 088(1 strain), 0141: K85(3 strains) and 0149:K9l (3 strains).
